What is Dysport?

Dysport is an FDA-approved cosmetic injectable used to treat specific wrinkle-causing muscles in the face in order to reduce the appearance of facial wrinkles and restore a more youthful look. It is derived from the same substance as BOTOX® Cosmetic, but it has a different formulation.

Dr. Berger injects small amounts of Dysport directly into the facial muscles which are causing the formation of your wrinkles. These painless injections will block the nerve impulses which cause the muscle contractions responsible for wrinkle formation. As your treatment takes effect, you will experience an improvement in the appearance of these wrinkles.

Dysport is most effective at treating:

  • Crow’s feet (lines around the eyes)
  • Forehead wrinkles
  • Frown lines between the eyebrows

Your results should last approximately 12-16 weeks. In order to maintain longer lasting results, you’ll need to return to our Fort Lauderdale office for additional Dysport treatments with Dr. Mishkin.

The most common side effects of Dysport treatment are nose and throat irritation, headache, injection site pain, injection site skin reaction, upper respiratory tract infection, eyelid swelling, eyelid drooping, sinus inflammation, and nausea. You should wait at least 90 days between Dysport treatments.
